Diversity in Classes
True MMA starts with learning diffrent styles
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling. In the early 20th century, the Gracie family developed BJJ using influences from Judo and Japanese Jiu-Jitsu. BJJ promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person using leverage and proper technique can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger assailant. BJJ can be trained for self defense, sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and is a must for mixed martial arts (MMA) competition. Sparring and live drilling play a major role in training.
We offer authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with direct linage to Ricardo “De La Riva” Goded, one of the most technical fighters in the history of the sport. Our facility offers recreational and competitive level Jiu-Jitsu classes for adults, teens, and children.
No-Gi Grappling
The No-Gi Grappling program blends Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques with folk style wrestling, without the use of the traditional BJJ uniform, called a gi.
Muay Thai
Muay Thai history is deeply entwined with the history of Thailand itself. Because of perpetual invasions from neighboring countries when Thailand was in the process of forming, Thai people depended on their ability to defend themselves. In these early times only short-range weapons such as spears, pikes and clubs would have been available for use in battle. During this kind of hand-to-hand combat, fighting methods can quickly change and the body’s natural weapons such as the head, fists, elbows and feet would necessarily also have been utilized. Undoubtedly, it is the systemized use of these natural weapons, developed as a practical fighting skill for the battlefield that came to be Muay Thai boxing.
After WWII Muay Thai boxers headed to the capital for fame and fortune, and the glory is still to be found at Rajadamnoen or Lumpinee boxing stadiums in Bangkok. Today in the villages in the provinces people can be seen clustered around available TV sets to see televised matches. All professional fighters have official ring names. The first part of the name is generally their own, while the second is the name of the training camp to which they belong. Today many men and women of all ages enjoy regular training sessions. There is now a World Championship for Muay Thai and it has become an accepted amateur sport in many countries. Muay Thai boxing is an essential part of Thai culture. Thais have a fiery belief in the lethal effectiveness of their fighting art and have proved it time and again.
Mixed martial arts (MMA)
Mixed martial arts (MMA) is an evolving combat sport in which competitors utilize a combination of fighting styles that include boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu. Mixed Martial Arts is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and is regarded as the most effective sport fighting system ever created. There are many local competitions for those willing to test themselves in this dynamic sport.
Judo
Giving an absolute definition to judo is tougher than it seems. Many people claim that it is a sport, some say a martial art, yet others say it is neither, but an entire educational system and way of life. In fact, it is all of these things, and depending upon your individual focus, you may or may not experience all of these components during your judo education. As a martial system, judo is comprised of three major categories of techniques: throwing techniques, grappling techniques and striking techniques. The techniques were developed from the older systems of Japanese jujutsu (or koryu) and combined together by the founder Jigoro Kano in the late 1800’s during a period of time in Japanese history where jujutsu and the warrior culture fell into disfavor. It was Kano’s desire to preserve this part of Japanese culture and tradition, while still making it acceptable to the societal changes of the time. The result was a very detailed, technically based educational system which teaches the underlying principles of balance and movement, while providing an effective set of fighting techniques which can be adapted and changed to fit particular body styles, personalities and conditions. Judo has been exported worldwide, and many countries have given their own unique flair to the art.
Wrestling
Freestyle wrestling is a style of amateur wrestling that also both allow the use of the wrestler's or his opponent's legs in offense and defense, and with Greco-Roman, it is one of the two styles of wrestling contested in the Olympic games and is currently the international style in which women participate in competition. Freestyle wrestling, has its greatest origins in catch-as-catch-can wrestling and the prime victory condition in both styles involves the wrestler winning by pinning his opponent on the mat. American high school and college wrestling is conducted under different rules and is termed scholastic and collegiate wrestling.

Yoga
The term yoga comes from a Sanskrit word which means yoke or union. Traditionally, yoga is a method joining the individual self with the Divine, Universal Spirit, or Cosmic Consciousness. Physical and mental exercises are designed to help achieve this goal, also called self-transcendence or enlightenment. On the physical level, yoga postures, called asanas, are designed to tone, strengthen, and align the body. These postures are performed to make the spine supple and healthy and to promote blood flow to all the organs, glands, and tissues, keeping all the bodily systems healthy. On the mental level, yoga uses breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation (dyana) to quiet, clarify, and discipline the mind. However, experts are quick to point out that yoga is not a religion, but a way of living with health and peace of mind as its aims.
